     " Leave her alone.'' Hans Hubermann entered the fray. His gentle voice made it's way in, as if slipping through a cloud. "Leave her to me."

            For second I sort of was really scared that he might do something terrible, like a side of Hans we hadn't seen. But afterward I realized he really didn't want to punish her or anything because he probably knew that not taking a bath is not something to go down upon. I also must say that this is  a fabulous simile.

    I agree with everything. I thought when he said "leave it to me" he would abuse her. Though when you read on you realize he is a kind hearted man only trying to help her.

    Me too!!!! I thought when he said that he was planning to do all the really bad punishments. It was really scary
